WHAT KEEPS STHEMBISO SITHOLE GOING.....

News- News are what keeps Sthembiso going. He enjoys being in the center  of news and being the first to report a story.

Sthembiso believes there is a need for people's stories to be told. Stories of  hope, pain and human interest. It is true he also report about what is  happening in his country and the world at large.

Politics are what has shaped his views about the challenges that South Africa is experiencing.

He always spends time in the field covering stories.

He is inspired by people who always share their views about what is happening in the country and other parts of the world.

Sithole looks up to people who guide him about life and help him in the decisions that he makes in life. These mentors have and still play a huge role in his life and career.

They range from ordinary people with passion for life to people who have businesses, lecturers and so on.

 BEYOND THE NEWSROOM....

Through the things that he learn't from his childhood, parents and mentors.

Sthembiso now has his own group of youngsters that he spend time talking to about life and share the things that will help them to reach their goals.

The boys and girls range from high school students to first year university students.

The passion of sharing information/ knowledge about life and wisdom satrted when he was a teenager.

His wish is to see youngsters setting goals, dreaming and achieving them.

MY INTRESTS

Sthembiso enjoys his space alone. He usually spend one hour in the stadium early in the morning or at night, where he reflect to the things that he has done so far in his life and how he can improve or what to do to take his life to the next level.

Sithole listen to Jazz, RnB, Afro pop, Rock, Gospel and a little bit of house music.Reading inspirational books such as My father my monster by McIntosh Polela, The Secret, 25 Ways To Win People by John C Maxwell, and reading in general is one of his interests.

Spending time in the social network has turn to be his big interest to access news and to network with people. The love and smell of a newspaper is the reason why he always make time to read it.

Living a good life with good friends is what he adore, as he believes that is part of success and happiness. He also spend most of his holidays away from home, visiting freinds within South Africa and other countries.

PEOPLE I ASSOCIATE MYSELF WITH

Growing up in the streets of Soweto Sthembiso met different kind of people. He spend most of his time with people older than him. Today he regard them as mentors, who have helped him shape his dreams and goals.

Sithole spends most of his time associating himself with people who share the same sentiment about life. People with dreams and plans for the future.

Siphumelele Zondi worked at the SABC as  a reporter and met up with Sithole at the Tshwane University of Technology in 2011.

http://journtau.blogspot.com/2011/10/lazy-south-africans-would-make-you.html

Zondi was his lecture before he moved to UK, for his masters.

Together they have work hand in hand to ensure that readers get stories that reflect to them, in the blog journtau.

Including some reporters from media houses. Anorth Mabuda was his editor for TUTLIFE monthly newspaper. He currently reports for Media 24.

Sithole still work hard to network with other reporters and editors to get more knowlegde about the media industry.

WHY JOURNALISM?

Telling people stories and reporting in general that is what made Sthembiso Sithole love and enjoy Journalism.

Being in the center of news and being the first to report a breaking story is the main reason that drive his passion.

"Journalism is what I call the right platform for me to be the eyes and hears of the community," said Sthembiso Sithole.

Sithole personally believes that, there is  a lot to be done to tell those untold stories. He also believes that the is  still a need for local newspapers in rural areas that will cover the core of each and every area.

September 2011 during the school and University holidays, Sithole visited a place called Nqutu in KZN. The main reason for his visit was to conduct a research about the media landscape in the area. http://sitholeexpress.blogspot.com/2011/10/rural-nquthu-struggles-with-few.html

MY VIEWS ABOUT THE SECRECY BIILL

The Protection Information Bill has made every South African citizen and the world at large talking about the proposed bill.

As a budding media scholar, I have read and heard what the ANC ruling party has to say about the bill and why they believe it should be included in our constitution. I share the same semtiment with Youth for African Media for their views and hard work about what many regared as a secrecy bill.

YAM is a student organisation aimed at promoting good governance, access to information and fighting against any attempts to thwart media freedom and the rights which are enshrine in the Constitution.

The ANC government is trying to hide infomation from us South African citizens about the things that are taking place internal and external. That is why they even went an extra mile to propose that one might face a 15-year jail sentence if found to have acted in contravention.

The issue of the matter is that, this bill is not in the public interest but it is taking South Africa in the dark era of Apartheid. This means that no one will have access to governement matters, including the misuse of fourtune.

That is way I was and still one of those in the forefront against this secrecy  bill.

On the 19 October 2011 I was one of those who celebrated the Media Freedom day.  FACEBOOK:

" Power to MEDIA FREEDOM, Power. Viva media houses viva. Today I am celebrating MEDIA FREEDOM DAY. Please join me by posting your comments, expressing your views about this proposed secrecy bill. Power to journalists and their editor’s power. Expose corruption, Expose!"
